IS YOUR HOME "MOVE-IN" READY?
Matt. 6:29-21 (Amplified) "Do not
gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth
and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and
steal. But gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do
not break through and steal; For where your treasure is, there will your heart
be also.
Matt. 6:33 - (Amp.) "But seek (aim
at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of
doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given
you besides."
Matt. 16:26 (Amp.) "For
what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life (his
blessed life in the kingdom of God)? Or what would a man give as an exchange for
his blessed life in the kingdom of God?"
If you are a homeowner or a first-time buyer where you have bought, built or is building a house, there are several processes involved before the big "Move-In" day! There are several types of homes one can choose from. We have the new homes, "As-Is" homes and the "Move-in Ready" homes, If you are ones who are doing some "home-shopping" (as I call it), you prefer choosing a homes. Move -in ready says that there is little or no repairs or work involved when it's time to move. There is only your furniture and belongings to move into the house. If the proper steps, planning, evaluations and inspections were ignored prior to the moving, then you will arrive at the location disappointed. There will be things on location which will hinder you from moving in due to lack of things not "move-in ready.
As I view the things happening with what's going on in our world, it seems to me
as though there is more concern about storing up treasures here on earth than
preparing for our heavenly home. Reaching for things that will only bring
temporary happiness, momentarily thrill or fame or temporary riches seems to be
the fad these days. Trying to satisfy selfish wishes and desires takes the focus
off of their desire to do the things which pleases God. The cares of this world
and trying to satisfy our wants will certainly cause one not to think of the
things God has planned for those who love Him.
I'm reminded of a story told of a man
who died and went to Heaven. As the angel toured him through the streets of
Heaven, he glanced and saw beautiful mansions that were built. He surely thought
that one of those he saw belonged to him. When the angel proceeded further and
passed by those mansions, he took the man in front of a poorly, constructed
shack at the end. The man wanted to know whose house did this one belong to? The
angel replied, "This is yours. We did what we could with what you sent
us." The moral of this story: "Don't
neglect to prepare for your eternal home while on earth." If you want to have the
best where it counts the most, start reserving and investing in it now. The
things of the world will pass away but the things of God are eternal. Let's make
sure that our life is hid in Christ and we have our business fixed with him.
Jesus promised us that he was going away to prepare us a place that where he
was, we would be also. He left us a plan to get there and it's up to each
individual to follow the plan in order to obtain what he has prepared for
us. Is your home Move-In Ready?"
